In addition to the standard line-up of Donnie Thompson’s DT Body Tempering Rollers (50LB, 80LB, and 110LB), Rogue is now offering Stix and Stone’s innovative Concrete DA Tempering Roller Mold, which enables users to create multiple heavy-duty rollers of varying weights, each poured from the same reusable mold.

Cost-efficient and shipping-friendly (the interlocking mold weighs just 3.25 LBS), this DIY kit was designed and manufactured in Texas by David Accardo, who launched Stix and Stone during the pandemic to offer concrete plate, dumbbell, and kettlebell molds to athletes who’d been cut off from their usual training spaces. When Accardo was approached by Powerlifting legend and equipment designer Donnie Thompson about adapting a similar product for the DT Tempering Roller, he gladly developed a mold that mimics the key features of the cast iron original, including the segmented design and exterior contoured grooves. 

The DA Tempering Roller Mold is made from vacuum-formed plastic and holds up to 100 LBS of 5,000 psi concrete. When pouring the concrete, users can add in scrap steel to make a heavier roller, or a foam insert to reduce the final weight. This customization potential makes the mold a great option for a gym serving multiple athletes, or for an individual looking to experiment with different roller weights at low cost.

Body Tempering Rollers can create a much more intense form of soft tissue mobilization than lighter foam rollers, without causing any additional pain or discomfort in the process. Regular use can help break up trigger points and relieve tightness in the joints, muscles, and fascia.
